Jett Cleary and Luke Hanson renew their partnership when the One New Zealand Warriors take on the Newtown Jets in Saturday’s round five New South Wales Cup encounter at Henson Park in Sydney (3.00pm kick-off local time; 5.00pm NZT).
The last time they worked in tandem was in the Warriors’ big 44-12 round two win over Canberra but they’ve been separated the past two rounds.
Hanson was making his debut against the Knights in round three with Cleary and Jack Thompson in the halves in the NSW Cup.
Then last week Cleary was out following concussion protocols after a head knock late in the loss to Newcastle.
It was Thompson and Hanson together with the latter providing the match-winning field goal in a 29-28 victory over Western Suburbs.

The Warriors are 2-2 facing the Jets who are fifth on the ladder with a 2-1 record after having the bye in the first round.
They’ll again have strike on the wings through Alofi’ana Khan-Pereira’s scorching pace and Haizyn Mellars’ mix of speed, strength and aerial ability. They were both try scorers against the Magpies, Mellars now with seven tries in four games – the best of all players – and 15 in 14 career games.
Returning from injury at hooker is Jaydee Auloa with Morgan Gannon named to start in the second row. Also selected for the second week running is NRL centre Ali Leiataua while the bench again includes 17-year-old sensation Bishop Neal.
Brought up from Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) to reserve grade, the powerhouse second rower has made an immediate impact scoring three tries in his first two games in the competition.
