JFC Team List: Four under-19 players in for round one

Four players have been promoted from the SG Ball Cup (under-19) side for the One New Zealand Warriors’ round one Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) clash against the Sydney Roosters at Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe on Saturday (12.00pm kick-off).

Back rower Dezman Laban, utility Tyson Hansen and front rowers Gordon Afoa and Micah Sula have been included after featuring for the Warriors in the opening rounds of the SG Ball season.

Laban is named at loose forward with Hansen, Afoa and Sula included on the interchange.

Two notable selections are hooker Braelan Marsh – son of former Warrior PJ Marsh – and schoolboy rugby union star Harry Inch at standoff.

As well as Marsh and Inch, other newcomers are fullback Tainyn Clarken, prop Hohepa Chandler, interchange utility Tama-Teahorangi Darlington and 18th man Jeriah Vagana-Malaitai.

The other notable new face is head coach TJ Ashford, who makes his SG Ball debut after taking the Warriors to back-to-back Harold Matthews Cup (under-17)
