Punters have jumped out of the gates fast backing the One New Zealand Warriors for Auckland’s huge ‘Footy, Fillies and Fans’ weekend next month.
From Friday, March 6 through to Sunday, March 8 the Warriors, Blues, Auckland FC and Auckland Thoroughbred Racing will open their gates to thousands of fans keen to enjoy an exceptional weekend of rugby league, rugby union, racing and football.
Within 24 hours of the initiative being announced, sports lovers have shown their liking for the Warriors by grabbing available tickets for their season-opening NRL clash against the Sydney Roosters on March 6.
So much so only 3000 tickets are left for the Round One fixture, with the sold out sign set to go up again before the second Friday night blockbuster at home against the Canberra Raiders on March 13.
“Fans jumped on the Warriors as soon as the big weekend initiative was launched,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.
“We’re now odds-on to have another sell-out confirmed well ahead of the match.
“Supporters need to get in quickly to secure a seat for the game and also for our second match against the Raiders a week later. It’s a huge start to the year for us.”
