Huge representation of Warriors in All Stars teams

No fewer than 13 One New Zealand Warriors players have been named across three of the four teams for the annual Harvey Norman Māori-Australian Indigenous All Stars showpiece at Hamilton’s FMG Stadium Waikato on Sunday, February 15.

Six Warriors have been named in each of the Māori teams.

Included in the men’s squad are captain James Fisher-Harris, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Adam Pompey, Te Maire Martin and Jacob Laban.

Lining up for women will be Payton Takimoana, Gayle Broughton, Shakira Baker, Harata Butler, Mya Hill-Moana and Matekino Gray.

Selected in the men’s Australian Indigenous squad is winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira, who has joined the Warriors from the Gold Coast Titans this season.

The All Stars show is returning to New Zealand for the 15th edition of the game’s annual cultural extravaganza to kick off the season.

The Indigenous All Stars feature Josh Addo-Carr, Nicho Hynes and Jack Wighton taking on the might of the Māori who boast not only the six Warriors but also the likes of Casey McLean, Keano Kini, Briton Nikora and Leo Thompson,

The Indigenous women’s All Stars will feature Titans superstar Jaime Chapman and Dragons playmaker Taliah Fuimaono against a Māori Women’s outfit boasting the Warriors’ sextet as well as Rima Butler, Raecene McGregor, Shanice Parker, Jasmin Strange, and Zahara Temara.

The event will also include a clash between the Indigenous and Māori touch football teams.
