DWZ and Broughton back in Māori All Stars

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Gayle Broughton are back in Māori colours for the eighth edition of the annual All Stars showpiece at Hamilton’s FMG Stadium Waikato on Sunday, February 15.

Hamilton-born and raised One New Zealand Warriors winger Watene-Zelezniak and major 2026 NRLW signing Broughton have been confirmed ahead of the scheduled announcement of the full Māori and Indigenous All Stars teams later today.

Watene-Zelezniak will make his first appearance in the Māori side since scoring a try in the 10-10 draw five years ago; he joins Māori men’s All Stars captain Fisher-Harris whose selection was announced on Tuesday night.

Broughton, who has signed with the Warriors from the premiership-winning Brisbane Broncos, starred in her only All Stars outing in 2023, producing a player of the match performance in the women’s 16-12 victory over the Australian Indigenous side in Rotorua.

Also added to the men’s squad is Kiwi and Penrith centre Casey McLean while Newcastle’s Tenika Willison joins Broughton and Parramatta’s Kennedy Cherrington in the women’s team.

After announcing Nicho Hynes on Tuesday night, South Sydney’s Jack Wighton and Parramatta’s Josh Addo-Carr have been confirmed as starters for the men’s Indigenous side while Taliah Fuimaono (St George Illawarra) and Jada Taylor (Cronulla Sutherland) are advance selections for the Indigenous women.
