Original principal sponsor DB is back in the One New Zealand Warriors’ commercial family for the first time in 25 years.
The company is synonymous with the club’s fledgling years when the DB Bitter Auckland Warriors first entered the competition in 1995.
While the naming rights deal finished after the 1998 season, DB remained involved until 2000.
Now DB is back after signing a two-year sponsorship as the One New Zealand Warriors’ official mainstream beer and cider partner, leading with the Export brand.
“It’s a full circle moment for both of us to be reconnected after so many years,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.
“DB will always have a special place in the club’s history through the key role it played in getting the original Auckland Warriors off the ground so it’s exciting to have the company back with us.”
Through its contract, DB will have exclusive rights to pour its brands on home game days at Go Media Stadium including in the Warriors’ popular hospitality lounges and suites.
“We’re proud to renew our partnership with the One New Zealand Warriors, a team that embodies passion and community spirit – values that align with DB Breweries,” said DB marketing director Fraser Shrimpton.
“Partnering with the Warriors isn’t just about sport; it’s about celebrating Kiwi pride and bringing fans together. We look forward to another exciting season and raising a glass to all the moments worth cheering.”
DB Breweries has the backing of HEINEKEN, one of the world’s largest brewers, and makes and sells around 20 quality local and international beer, cider and RTD brands in New Zealand.
The company started from humble beginnings in 1929. Its first home, which it still operates as Waitemata Brewery, was originally open farmland in Ōtāhuhu.
With about 400 employees, DB Breweries has three breweries and a cidery located around New Zealand: Waitematā Brewery in Ōtāhuhu, Tuatara Brewery in Upper Hutt, Redwood Cidery in Nelson and DB Draught Brewery in Timaru.
