Experienced One New Zealand Warriors Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Chanel Harris-Tavita team up on the international stage for the first time after being included in Toa Sāmoa’s squad for the Pacific Championships.
The Sāmoans will open their campaign with a blockbuster clash against the New Zealand Kiwis at Go Media Stadium on Sunday, October 19 before reigniting their rivalry with Tonga at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday, October 26.
Tuivasa-Sheck (32) played 20 Tests for the Kiwis from 2013 to 2019 before supporting his Sāmoa heritage for last year’s two-Test series against England.
Harris-Tavita (26) missed the tour but returns after last playing for Toa Sāmoa in the Rugby League World Cup final against the Kangaroos at Old Trafford in 2022.
The squad includes Brisbane premierships winners Payne Haas and Diene Mariner along with Penrith’s Brian To’o, Blaize Talagi and Izack Tago, Wests Tigers half Jarome Luai and long-serving Canberra front rower Josh Papalii plus former Warrior Jazz Tevaga.
