Three One New Zealand Warriors have been included in the 21-man New Zealand Kiwis squad to face Sāmoa and Tonga on the Pacific Championships kicking off on the weekend of October 18-19.
Warriors captain James Fisher-Harris (Kiwi #810) will again lead the Kiwis with clubmates Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Erin Clark alongside him.
A Kiwi since 2016, the 222-game NRL veteran front rower is set to play his 19th Test when the New Zealand side opens its campaign against the Samoans at Go Media Stadium on Sunday, October 19 (6.05pm kick-off).
The 29-year-old Northlander has just come off his first season with the Warriors after helping them to reach the NRL finals for the second time in three seasons.
The 30-year-old Nicoll-Klokstad (Kiwi #820) – who boasts 135 NRL appearances – featured in all three Tests in last year’s Pacific Championships to lift his career tally to 13.
Kiwi #842 Clark made his Test debut against Papua New Guinea in Sydney last year ahead of making his return to the Warriors. Taking his NRL career total to 120 games, he played all 25 of the club’s games and was voted the lock of the year both in the Players’ Dream Team and the Dally M NRL Team of the Year.
As well as Fisher-Harris and Nicoll-Klokstad, Kiwi coach Stacey Jones has a squad including six seasoned internationals who were all ruled out of last year’s campaign – Nelson Asofa-Solomona (Storm), Dylan Brown (Eels), Kieran Foran (Titans), Moses Leota (Panthers) and Sharks duo Ronaldo Mulitalo and Briton Nikora.
Thirty one-Test Kiwi Kieran Foran, who recently announced his retirement following the Gold Coast Titans’ 2025 campaign, will wear the black and white jersey one final time. The veteran playmaker returns to international duty after receiving the call-up from Jones.
Foran is one of two former Warriors included along with Penrith back rower Isaiah Papali'i.
The only debutant included is utility forward and former Cook Islands international Xavier Willison who helped the Brisbane Broncos to their NRL premiership triumph over Melbourne.
Jahrome Hughes (Melbourne) and Kodi Nikorima (Dolphins) were unavailable due to injury.
