Six players from Warriors' 2025 NRLW comeback squad farewelled

Six players signed for the One New Zealand Warriors’ return to the NRLW competition this season have ended their time with the club.

Head coach Ron Griffiths has confirmed hooker Avery-Rose Carmont, halfback Emily Curtain, middle forward Makayla Eli, front rower Lavinia Kitai, utility back Kalyn Takitimu-Cook and halfback-hooker Lydia Turua-Quedley haven’t been re-signed.

“We would like to thank the players for their service to the club,” said Griffiths.

“They have all been part of moments that will be etched in the Warriors’ history and they’ve helped to shape the club for future success.

“We wish them the best in their new endeavours.”

Making her NRLW comeback after a one-season absence, Curtain became Warrior #56 when she made her club debut in round one against the Roosters but a season-ending knee injury ended her campaign after five appearances.

The other five departing players all made their NRLW and club debuts this season with Kitai (#59) playing all 11 matches as did Turua-Quedley (#65).

Carmont (#67) made four interchange appearances, Eli (#69) three and Takitimu-Cook (#73) two.

Centre Paris Pickering (#74) departs after being signed as a replacement player for the latter part of the season – she played twice – while development player Sharnyze Pihema has also finished up.
