Contenders have been revealed for the Rugby League Players’ Association’s NRL and NRLW 2025 Players’ Champion awards, hand-picked by the RLPA’s player leaders from every NRL and NRLW club.
Four players from every team are eligible to be voted by NRL and NRLW players as their competition’s best player.
Selected from the One New Zealand Warriors’ NRL squad are loose forward Erin Clark, hooker Wayde Egan, prop Jackson Ford and winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
The four contenders from the club’s NRLW squad are centre Tysha Ikenasio, standoff Patricia Maliepo, captain and fullback Apii Nicholls and winger Payton Takimoana.
The 68 NRL players and 48 NRLW players singled out are now in contention for rugby league’s most prestigious individual honour – The Players’ Champion – as voted by the players.
The individual winners of the Players’ Champion from the NRL and NRLW will be announced on Channel 9 on Thursday October 2.
Shaun Johnson became the first Warrior to be named the NRL Players’ Champion in 2023.
