NRLW's try-scoring record holders to go head-to-head

A head-to-head match-up between the NRLW’s joint try-scoring record holders will provide a battle within the overall contest when the One New Zealand Warriors host the second-placed Broncos in Sunday’s round 10 clash at FMG Stadium Waikato (2.00pm kick-off).

Warriors try-scoring ace Payton Takimoana went into Saturday’s match against the Dragons with 11 tries, her try in the loss to the Sharks moving her level with St George Illawarra's Teagan Berry for the competition record.

Moved from the wing to the centres, she added a double in the Warriors' 18-26 defeat by the Dragons to take outright ownership of the record on 13.

It lasted 24 hours with Brisbane fullback Tamika Upton crossing four times in her side’s 44-0 trouncing of the Bulldogs yesterday to vault from nine tries for the season to 13.

Now Takimoana and Upton are set to line up against each other in the Warriors’ final home game of the season in their return to the competition.

The 21-year-old Takimoana has the distinction of scoring in each of her last eight games failing to score just once so far in the season-opening match against the Roosters.

With Takimoana's double, the outside back have now scored 22 of the Warriors' 27 tries so far this season.
