NSW Cup Team List: Taking aim at minor premiership again

After being held to a draw by the Dragons in appalling conditions last week, the One New Zealand Warriors have another chance to sew up the New South Wales Cup minor premiership when they face Canterbury Bankstown on Saturday (1.30pm kick-off local time; 3.30pm NZT).

The match was scheduled to be the first of a Bulldogs-Warriors tripleheader at Accor Stadium but has subsequently been moved to Leichhardt Oval.

Last Saturday’s 14-14 draw with St George Illawarra held up plans to celebrate the first NSW Cup minor premiership in the Warriors’ history.

The David Tangata-Toa coached side didn’t want for chances to seal the deal with four rounds to go but missed penalty and field goal attempts late in the contest left it locked up.

It also ended a club record run of 14 consecutive wins although the Warriors are still unbeaten in 15 games since their only loss of the season in April.

The Warriors retained their seven-point advantage over the second-placed Dragons meaning victory over the Bulldogs would leave them in an unassailable position with three rounds left in the regular season.

In Canterbury Bankstown, the Warriors face a side sitting eighth on the ladder coming off an 18-18 draw with Newtown last week which was preceded by wins over the Roosters and the Sea Eagles.
