Scoring 12 tries in total including four individual doubles, the One New Zealand Warriors trounced South Sydney 68-6 – their biggest win of the season – in today’s round 21 New South Wales Cup contest at Go Media Stadium.
The 18th victory in 19 starts extended the team’s all-comers club record to 14 consecutive wins as they climbed to 40 points on the ladder.
And with second-placed St George Illawarra losing to Newtown yesterday, the Warriors have all but wrapped up the minor premiership holding a commanding seven-point lead with five rounds to play in the regular season.
The bottom-placed Rabbitohs were dominated by a hungry Warriors side intent on taking the contest to them from the outset as they delivered five tries to lead 28-0 at halftime and then ran away scoring a point a minute in the second spell.
There was just one slip-up when the Warriors allowed the Rabbitohs their only try of the match in the 60th minute.
