A series of four regional trials for under-15 and under-17 boys will kick off in mid-August as the One New Zealand Warriors seek to recruit players of the future for the club’s pathways squads.
Registrations have opened for the trials, the first of which will be held in Wellington on August 17 followed by Rotorua on September 7, Christchurch on September 13 and Auckland on October 18.
“These will be invitation-only trials that we’re staging geographically to link in with our academies around the country,” said One New Zealand Warriors academy manager Athens Henare.
“There’s huge interest in our pathways from young players dreaming of playing for the Warriors.
“Recruiting young players never stops and these trials will give us a fantastic chance to find more players of the future as we keep feeding our development ranks.”
Henare said players will be invited only within their region for these trials. Overseas-based players will need to register for the Auckland regional trial.
