Physical Disability Rugby League New Zealand (PDRLNZ) will have support from the One New Zealand Warriors when the national team takes another significant step forward with a trip to Australia for a clash against Gold Coast at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina on September 6.

The match will be a curtain raiser to the Titans’ last game of their 2025 NRL campaign against the Wests Tigers.

The One New Zealand Warriors are facilitating the trip including providing playing kit for the team.

“This is a really exciting venture and we’re thrilled to support it,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“There’s so much good work being done to promote physical disabilities rugby league by opening up more opportunities like this and we’re here to support in any way we can.”

A squad of 15 including one Australian-based player will represent the New Zealand side against the Titans. The 11-a-side match will be played in two 25-minute halves.

“We’re all hugely excited about the opportunity to travel to the Gold Coast for this game,” said PDRLNZ chair Sandra Hickey.

“It’s a big undertaking which has taken months to bring together and we’re so grateful for the support of everyone involved.”

The New Zealand team’s most recent outing ended in a memorable 20-18 win over Australia in the curtain raiser to the Pacific Championships clash between the Kiwis and Tonga at Go Media Stadium last November.

In 2022 the New Zealanders reached the Rugby League World Cup final in Warrington where they lost to England.
