One New Zealand Warriors captain Apii Nicholls has been awarded the maximum six points to leap into contention for the NRLW Dally M Medal.

Nicholls was outstanding in Sunday's round two win over Parramatta at Go Media Stadium as the Warriors produced the club's first defensive clean sheet since entering the competition in 2018.

It was also the first time a side had been held scoreless so far this season

Apart from Nicholls, prop Harata Butler, winger Michaela Brake and loose forward Laishon Albert-Jones shared five of the remaining six points between them.

Nicholls was outstanding on both sides of the ball, running for 141 metres from 14 runs with a line break assist, a try assist, an off load and six tackle breaks while her 10 tackles included a superb effort on Eels fullback Abbi Church – an early contender for tackle of the year – and another on winger Martha Mataele.

Butler and Brake were awarded two points each while Albert-Jones collected one point.
