Just one change has been made for the One New Zealand Warriors’ historic round two NRLW encounter with the Parramatta Eels at Go Media Stadium on Sunday (1.50pm kick-off).

It will be the first time the club’s NRLW and NRL teams have featured on the same bill for a home game day with the men’s round 19 clash against the Wests Tigers following at 4.00pm.

And it’s only the second time the NRLW team has played a home game, the first dating back to September 22, 2019, when the Warriors hosted St George Illawarra in a stand-alone match at Go Media Stadium.

Until now the club’s other nine games have all been played in Australia.

One New Zealand Warriors head coach Ron Griffiths has today named the same 17 used in last Sunday’s return to the competition almost five years since their last game in 2020.

The only change is on the extended bench where middle forward Metanoia Fotu-Moala is included in jersey #22 after being unavailable due to her wedding last weekend. She is in contention to become the third Fotu-Moala sister to play in the NRLW following her older sibling Teuila and her twin sister Maatuleio.

With injuries impacting on the top 24 squad, the Warriors have again included development contracted forwards Ashlee Matapo and Ivana Lauitiiti.

The 18-year-old Matapo, a Northcote Tigers junior, made her debut as NRLW Warrior #66 against the Roosters while Lauititii was included in the extended squad.

Again unavailable this week are the injured Kalyn Takitimu-Cook, Lavinia Tauhalaliku and Felila Kia while Mya Hill-Moana recently had a baby. Also injured is development player Sharnyze Pihema with the only fit player outside the 22 named being hooker Danii Gray, also on a development contract.

Griffiths was impressed with the courage and determination shown by the inexperienced One New Zealand Warriors in their first match against the 2024 premiership-winning Roosters.

They fielded only seven players with NRLW experience with 10 debuting against a Roosters side stacked with proven players at the highest level.
