For the first time since June 30, 2019, the Panthers are back at Go Media Stadium to face the One New Zealand Warriors.

When they last met in Auckland former Warrior James Maloney left his old club heartbroken with a golden point field goal for a 19-18 victory.

Back then current Warriors James Fisher-Harris and Wayde Egan were in the Penrith side while first-year Panther Isaiah Papali'i was in the back row for the Warriors.

Of the other players involved in the 2019 fixture only Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - at fullback then - remains for the Warriors while Bunty Afoa hasn't been selected. The others are playing for other NRL clubs, have gone to the Super League or have retired.

With Penrith's State of Origin players not selected, only hooker Mitch Kenny and prop Moses Leota are back.

The crowd was only 12,952 for the 2019 contest; it's a sellout this time.

The Warriors have won seven of their past eight matches to sit comfortably in third spot but they will be wary of a Panthers side starting to find its mojo after a disastrous 1-5 start to the season.

The premiers have posted three wins and a draw in their past five matches to haul themselves from last on the ladder to ninth and breathing down the neck of the top eight.
