Centre Patrick Moimoi kick starts his season again when he lines up for the One New Zealand Warriors in their round 16 Jersey Flegg Cup clash against the Penrith Panthers at Go Media Stadium on Saturday (12.20pm kick-off).

The 21-year-old marked his delayed start to the campaign from a long injury lay-off by scoring a try in his comeback appearance against Newcastle.

Two matches into his return he was sidelined through suspension but now resumes his season coming into the centres for Caelys Putoko, who has been promoted to the club’s New South Wales Cup side this week.

Moimoi comes into a settled side looking to build on its best win of the season over the highly-ranked Parramatta last weekend, the Warriors’ third win in their last four matches which moved them back into the top eight.

They assumed control against their top four opponents, outscoring them six tries to four en route to a 32-20 victory.

It was a confidence-boosting end to a stretch of three consecutive matches on the road which netted wins over the Rabbitohs (30-26) and the Eels with a 28-38 loss to the Sharks sandwiched in between; and in that contest they pushed all the way holding the lead twice in the second half before the home side sealed it.

Now the Warriors are back home for the first leg of a tripleheader super Saturday at Go Media Stadium, up against another challenging opponent in Penrith.

The Panthers are sitting fifth on the ladder on 20 points, six ahead of the Warriors, but last week they slumped to a 6-38 loss to St George Illawarra.
