Like their NRL counterparts, the One New Zealand Warriors are eyeing a fifth consecutive win when they face the Roosters in their 11th-round New South Wales Cup encounter at Wentworth Park in Sydney on Sunday (1.00pm kick-off local time; 3.00pm NZT).
The Warriors opened their NSW Cup campaign with four wins on end before slumping to a disappointing home loss against the Newtown Jets but they’ve been in a rich vein of form since.
Rebounding with a 40-12 win over the Dragons, they’ve followed up with victories against the Knights (30-18), the Bears (56-14) and the Raiders (46-30) to sit firmly on top of the ladder with 18 points.
With the Jets dropping games in each of the last two rounds, the Warriors enjoy a three-point buffer over the Dragons and Eels with Newtown on 14.

Last time out against the Roosters, the Warriors – and especially Te Maire Martin – ran riot in a 46-12 win at Go Media Stadium.
They had a lineup heavy on significant NRL experience that day with Martin joined by Tanah Boyd, Bunty Afoa, Rocco Berry, Morgan Harper, Edward Kosi, Tom Ale and Freddy Lussick.

NSW Highlights: Lussick, Fatialofa hat-tricks in big win
They don’t have as much available this week with only Boyd, Harper, Ale and Lussick in the squad named on Tuesday although others could be added when the NRL lineup is confirmed.
In Boyd the Warriors have the competition’s top points scorer with 89 while back rower Kayliss Fatialofa has eight tries after his hat-trick, three behind the leader Penrith’s Asu Kepaoa.
The Roosters have named winger Dominic Young and former Warrior Chad Townsend to face the Warriors this week.
They sit seventh on the table having won their last two games against the Bulldogs and the Sea Eagles.
