Experienced halves Te Maire Martin and Tanah Boyd have again been named to spearhead the One New Zealand Warriors in their 10th-round New South Wales Cup match against Canberra at Collegians Sporting Complex in Wollongong on Saturday (2.00pm kick-off local time; 4.00pm NZT).

The contest is the second leg of a Warriors-Raiders doubleheader with the Jersey Flegg Cup teams going head-to-head at 12.00pm (2.00pm NZT).

The Warriors are the home team this time after Canberra was the nominated home club when they met in both grades at Leichhardt Oval in the first round of the season.

On that occasion the Warriors needed a converted Moala Graham-Taufa try to take the lead late in the match before holding on nervously for victory.

They’ve been impressive since slipping up just once so far to Newtown (20-28) while putting together a table-topping 7-1 record. In doing so they’ve scored 30 or more points six times to lead all teams for most points scored (275) while conceding the fewest points (140).

They found a sweet spot with their attack last Sunday in trouncing North Sydney 56-14, the most points the Warriors have scored in a match since the club took over running the reserve grade side outright in 2014 (previously the Warriors and the Auckland Rugby League joined forces with the Auckland Vulcans).

Martin and Boyd had their hands - and feet - over almost every one of the Warriors’ 10 tries with seven try assists between them plus four line break assists and two line breaks.

Martin leads all players in the competition for line breaks with 15 while Boyd has 10 with Boyd second for most points scored (79).

There's no knowing how much more damage Martin might have inflicted had been on the field for the full 80 minutes. Instead he was taken out of the contest after an hour and later had the chance to join former Warriors teammate Jazz Tevaga to watch the game from the stands.

In running riot against the Bears, the Warriors had the added satisfaction of ending a run of six consecutive losses against North Sydney dating back to 2019.

Head coach David Tangata-Toa named a side on Tuesday showing some tweaks from the one used against the Bears.

Setu Tu, back at the club after a stint win Melbourne, is listed in the centres with Morgan Harper going to the wing; Tu and Harper both played for the Storm against the Warriors in the Preseason Challenge in Hamilton in February.

Tanner Stowers-Smith returns in the front row in an otherwise unchanged forward pack.

Both the Warriors and Raiders will be seeking a fourth straight win.

Since their only loss to the Jets, the Warriors have beaten the Dragons 40-12, the Knights 30-18 and the Bears 56-14.

The Raiders come into the contest sitting sixth on the ladder with four wins and four losses but after one win in their first five games they’ve had three impressive wins over beating the Sea Eagles 46-12, the Bears 36-26 and the Panthers 16-10 last weekend.
