Maximum Dally M points for Egan after silky display

Talismanic hooker Wayde Egan is the third One New Zealand Warriors player in as many weeks to score the maximum six Dally M points following his outstanding display in Sunday’s thrilling 26-24 round four NRL win over the Wests Tigers.

Previously Luke Metcalf bagged full points for his effort in the win over Manly Warringah followed by Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad doing the same for his display in the victory against the Roosters.

Egan’s classy touch was everywhere to be seen in atrocious conditions at Campbelltown Stadium in west Sydney.

Not least was the silky move he ignited in harmony with fellow spine players Chanel Harris-Tavita and Luke Metcalf ending in a brilliant try for Metcalf immediately after halftime.

He also put second rower Marata Niukore over for his first half try, produced two off loads and made 45 tackles.

The six-point haul lifted his total to 10, four behind the leader Jye Gray (Rabbitohs).

Loose forward Erin Clark, playing his 99th NRL game, was awarded three points after another whole-hearted display. In 49 minutes, he made 159 metres from 16 runs including 61 post-contact metres while he had four tackle breaks, two off loads and 30 tackles.

The remaining three points went to Wests Tigers prop Terrell May.
