Community foundation and Kidney Kids team up tonight

Kidney Kids NZ and the Warriors Community Foundation have partnered to host a fundraising event during the One New Zealand Warriors’ first home game of the season against Manly Warringah at Go Media Stadium tonight.

The fund raising activity follows a visit this week by One New Zealand Warriors winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to spend time with kidney kids at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland.

A raffle will be held tonight for a chance to win a signed 2025 Warriors away jersey.

Available in the Bayleys Club Lounge and TAB Clubrooms, the raffle gives fans a chance to take home a valuable piece of Warriors memorabilia while supporting Kidney Kids NZ and the Warriors Community Foundation.

There will be fundraising stations around the stadium with an an army of dedicated volunteers on hand taking donations via the MIKA app or the classic cash method. Fans can contribute at various donation stations to support both organizations and help make a difference for children and communities across New Zealand.

“Special shout out to the Kidney Kids and their families who will be there to watch the game tonight,” said Kidney Kids CEO Ian Potter.

"These amazing kids are all brave warriors on a journey with kidney disease and kidney conditions. They will need all the aroha and support we can give them.

“To enhance the game, we were excited to have Dallin Watene-Zelezniak attending Starship Children’s Hospital to visit some of our kidney kids.

“At the game, one of our Kidney Kids will be running the ball out. As we observe World Kidney Day on March 13, we will stand together to raise awareness and offer our support.”

Warriors Community Foundation CEO Lincoln Jefferson said the organisation was committed ton raising awareness around kidney disease in kids.

“We are incredibly proud to strengthen our long-lasting partnership with Kidney Kids NZ,” he said.

“Tonight’s game is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible resilience of these children who face the challenges of kidney disease and conditions every day.

“The Warriors Community Foundation stands firmly alongside them, offering ongoing aroha and support. Together, we are committed to raising awareness and providing the resources these kids need to thrive. We are honoured to be part of their journey and look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership to create lasting change.”
