Harold Matthews Cup: Changes for Penrith encounter

Two backline changes have been made for the One New Zealand Warriors’ second-round Harold Matthews Cup (under-17) encounter with the Penrith Panthers at HE Laybutt Field in Sydney on Sunday (12.00pm kick-off local time; 2.00pm NZT).

After being used from the bench in the first-up win over Manly Warringah, Alapati Tusa-Soagia comes in at halfback while Tusi Liam Fanolua is promoted from the interchange to start in the centres.

Tusa-Soagia comes in for Ashton Ulaula-Ieremia, ruled out with concussion after starring with 16 points in the round one success.

The rest of the backline is the same as that used in the 28-10 victory over the Sea Eagles while the starting forward pack is unchanged.

Twin brothers Lucian and D’Angelo Mikaele, both Saint Kentigern College First XV rugby union players, are again the props with Dreytin Marriott at hooker and Bishop Neal – a double try scorer against Manly – Dougal Grant and Ronan Byford in the back row.

There are two changes on the bench with Krushil Koteka and last week’s 18th man Christiano Elia.
