Harris and Fonua-Blake in hard-earned double

One New Zealand Warriors middle forwards Tohu Harris and Addin Fonua-Blake have started 2024 snaring a double by both making the NRL’s round one VB Hard-earned Team of the Week.

While their team lost 12-16 to Cronulla Sutherland in last Friday night’s round one clash, Harris and Fonua Blake were outstanding to score highly on the index used to assess players’ performances.

Captain Harris finished with a round-high 98 points. He topped all players on the field at Go Media Stadium for most runs with 27 and most metres 237 while he had five line engaged runs, 10 decoys and four supports plus 38 tackles (one missed tackle).

Fonua-Blake, who finished second on the VB Hard-earned Index last season, wasn’t far behind with 87 points. His performance included 220 metres from 22 runs, 24 tackles (no missed tackles), six tackle breaks, two off loads, eight decoys, three supports, five line-engaged runs, two off loads, no errors and no penalties.
