Recovery Report: Update on SJ's recovery

One New Zealand Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson is progressing as expected from the ankle injury he picked up in training last week.

It’s planned to introduce the 33-year-old playmaker to the early phase of a return to run programme next week as he recovers from his moderate ankle strain.

Johnson is in no doubt to be available for the club’s first-round match against Cronulla Sutherland at Go Media Stadium on Friday, March 8.

Winger Ed Kosi is progressing into team training after having a scaphoid repair earlier in the preseason.

He has been running throughout but is till on restricted contact as he pushes to be available in the early rounds of the season.

Head of performance Balin Cupples said 2023 rookie back rower Demitric Sifakula is making strong progress in his return from ACL surgery.

Sifakula is well into his first running block and is building strength ahead of a scheduled midseason return.
