Injury Report: Martin out for eight weeks with broken leg

One New Zealand Warriors playmaker Te Maire Martin is set to be out until early June after fracturing his left fibula in Sunday’s 24-34 seventh-round loss to Newcastle.

The 27-year-old was helped from the field after being injured in the process of trying to get across the line early in the second half.

It’s expected he will be sidelined for eight weeks, making the club’s home game against the Dolphins on June 3 potentially his first game back.

Hooker Wayde Egan is this week following concussion protocols after being ruled out from going back on the field after a head knock on Sunday night.

Also on the injury list is centre Rocco Berry who picked up a minor quadricep strain in the One New Zealand Warriors’ fifth-round New South Wales Cup match against Western Suburbs.

As well as having seven players on the NRL injury list, the club is missing second rower Marata Niukore, who is serving the second game oh his two-match suspension.
