Four new signings make club debuts in first trial

Four of the One New Zealand Warriors’ new signings have been named in the club’s first side of the season for Thursday night’s NRL Preseason Challenge encounter with Wests Tigers at Mount Smart Stadium (8.00pm kick-off).

Former Kiwi Te Maire Martin is paired in the halves with Luke Metcalf, who has joined the club from Cronulla Sutherland while ex-St George Illawarra Dragons Brayden Wiliame and Jackson Ford are also included.

In his first match as head coach Andrew Webster has all four of the club’s development players with Demitric Sifakula in the second row and Zyon Maiuu, Ali Leiataua and Jacob Laban on an 11-man bench.

The two most experienced players named are winger Marcelo Montoya (90 appearances) and prop Bunty Afoa (108 games).
