Here we go - Friday night footy's back at Mount Smart

First it was the footy returning to Mount Smart Stadium at last – now it’s time for some Friday night lights with the Storm in town for game two of the Vodafone Warriors’ 2022 Homecoming Series tonight 29 (8.00pm kick-off).

After being back where it matters most for the historic July 3 daytime homecoming, it’s set to be a special night out at the stadium for the first time in almost three years.

And what better way to reintroduce Friday night football than to have the Vodafone Warriors matched up with traditional foes the Storm in the NRL’s annual Women in League round.

While tickets are still available through www.ticketmaster.co.nz another big crowd is guaranteed to welcome the Vodafone Warriors onto the field for only the second time since August 2019 in what is the club’s 49th clash against the Storm.

Marking the Women in League purpose of the round, the curtain raiser is a women’s Region of Origin contest between the Auckland and Southern Zone under-16 representative sides kicking off at 5.30pm (gates open at 5.00pm).

Away from the football on the field, the new-look 95 Social precinct at the northern end of the ground will again have a place-to-be feel about it. It was abuzz on July 3 with its array of food outlets and bars generating an energy and an air of celebration having the Vodafone Warriors, members, fans and sponsors back where they belong. That will lift again with official apparel partner and game two presenting sponsor PUMA offering an exciting brand activation for fans to experience.

There’ll be another round of the ever-popular mini mods games while merchandise will again be available from the SuperStore as well as other outlets around the stadium.
