Farewelling Canterbury of New Zealand after 15 seasons

After 13 straight seasons as partners, the Vodafone Warriors are farewelling long-time apparel supplier Canterbury of New Zealand.

As the Auckland Warriors’ foundation apparel sponsor in their first two years in 1995 and 1996, Canterbury has literally been part of the club’s fabric for a total of 15 seasons.

The relationship was rekindled in 2009, launching an era in which Canterbury of New Zealand set a standard for innovative apparel designs which set the Vodafone Warriors apart from all other 15 NRL clubs.

“We have so much to thank Canterbury for,” said Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“Over the last 13 seasons they’ve led the way in the design field both with our playing kit and training range as well as apparel for our fans.

“We’ve had a tremendous relationship and are truly grateful for the time we’ve had together as partners.”

Canterbury of New Zealand managing director APAC (Asia-Pacific) Jamie Meikleham said the association with the Vodafone Warriors had been invaluable.

“It has been more than a business relationship. It has been a collaborative partnership which has taken sporting apparel design in a new direction,” said Meikleham.

“We’re so proud of what we achieved working together with the Vodafone Warriors. They’ve been wonderful partners in our shared vision to make a statement in the market.

“We’ll always have tremendous memories of our time together and, as our business puts greater focus on our Canterbury branded and lifestyle ranges, we will continue to wish the club every success in the future.”

An announcement about the Vodafone Warriors’ new apparel partner will be made soon.
