Vodafone Warriors forward Leivaha Pulu is heading back to Auckland from the team’s Terrigal base in New South Wales for family reasons.

Team management has assisted him to return home after his pregnant wife Tolina was involved in a car accident.

Pulu will go into isolation for 14 days when he arrives home.

“Thankfully Tolina and baby are fine but Vaha naturally wanted to be as close to his family as possible at this time,” said Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“Hopefully he’ll be able to return to Terrigal later in the month if our families are given an exemption for them to enter Australia.”

George said the Vodafone Warriors were now seeking a loan player to replace Pulu for the next few weeks.
