Hoffy's 300th wins vote

Ryan Hoffman’s 300th NRL appearance in the 2017 encounter with Gold Coast clash has beaten off the other two contenders for the Vodafone Warriors’ classic match on Game Day Saturday at 3.00pm tomorrow on Sky Sport’s home of rugby league (Sky Sport 4, channel 54).

The Vodafone Warriors’ 34-12 win claimed 42 per cent of the votes to head off the 24-22 win in Robina in 2013 (30 per cent) and the 24-14 success in 2016 (28 per cent).

Relax and celebrate the first few days in level two lockdown by putting on your game face to see how events unfolded three years ago on a memorable day for Hoffman and for the Vodafone Warriors.

Each week the Vodafone Warriors and Sky Sport select three games from the archives featuring the Vodafone Warriors against the team they were scheduled to meet in the original draw before the 2020 season was suspended.

Next week we’ll be focusing on our would-be 11th-round opponents the Melbourne Storm with a selection of three encounters from the files for you, the fans, to vote on for Game Day Saturday on May 23.

The Vodafone Warriors picked up their first away win of the season 2017 and gave veteran second rower Ryan Hoffman the perfect result in his 300th career match as they surged to an impressive 34-12 victory.

The 33-year-old Hoffman's stamp was all over the day.

He led his team onto the field with his family, scored the Vodafone Warriors' first try of the match and then iced a memorable victory and occasion by calmly converting Ata Hingano's try in the final seconds. It was the first goal of his career after two failed previous attempts. For a man with no kicking pedigree he couldn't have done it better and he was instantly mobbed by the rest of the team.
