Lisone leaves Vodafone Warriors

The Vodafone Warriors have confirmed prop Sam Lisone has been granted a release from his contract to continue his NRL career in Australia.

The 26-year-old Toa Samoa international was off contract at the end of the season but is leaving the club immediately after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Titans.

He was withdrawn from the Vodafone Warriors’ trial against the Melbourne Storm in Palmerston North yesterday after originally being named to start in the front row.

“We thank Sam for his contribution to the club and wish him well for the great opportunity he has in front of him to continue his career,” said Vodafone Warriors recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan.

Auckland-born Lisone made his NRL debut in the opening round of the 2015 season and finishes his Vodafone Warriors career with 85 appearances in five seasons.

He also played 22 times for the Vodafone Junior Warriors in the now-defunct NYC in 2014 and made 23 appearances in the second-tier Canterbury Cup competition from 2014-2019.
