Round 5 NRL squad announcements

The NRL has postponed Sunday's Canterbury v Sydney Roosters game at Bankwest Stadium until Monday due to ensure player safety in relation to a potential biosecurity problem.

Sunday's 6.30pm game between St George Illawarra and Cronulla at Campbelltown Stadium will now be held at 4.05pm. 

Here are the official 21-man squads for all 16 clubs for this week's matches, updated with 19-man line-ups 24 hours before each game and with the final 17-man sides one hour before kick-off.

Sea Eagles: With Jorge Taufua (quad) and Curtis Sironen (bone bruising) ruled out with injury, Tevita Funa debuts on the wing and Corey Waddell is in the second row, with Taniela Paseka starting at prop, Addin Fonua-Blake moving back to the bench and Sean Keppie and Jack Gosiewski joining the interchange. Brendan Elliot and Morgan Boyle dropped out of the playing squad on game day. Manly have a fondness for Gosford – they have won eight of their past nine games at Central Coast Stadium.

Broncos: Corey Oates moves to the back row with Xavier Coates on the wing, Kotoni Staggs returns in place of Jesse Arthars, Matt Lodge and Joe Ofahengaue join the starting pack, Ben Te'o is added to the bench and Jamil Hopoate and Ethan Bullemor are shifted to the reserves. Bullemor and utility back Richie Kennar were omitted from the squad 24 hours before kick-off, and Jamil Hopoate and Tom Dearden dropped out of the 19-man squad on game day. The Broncos have won four of their past five games against the Sea Eagles.

Warriors: Peta Hiku will start at centre for Hayze Perham with Angatius Paasi dropping out of the reserves list on Thursday. Lachlan Burr replaces Isaiah Papali'i in the starting pack in the Warriors' other change. Papali'i and Chanel Harris-Tavita were omitted an hour before kick-off. The Warriors have won only two of their past 13 games against the Cowboys in Australia.

Cowboys: The Cowboys announced on Thursday that Jason Taumalolo would be part of the team to face the Warriors. The Tonga representative missed round four due to bone bruising on his knee. Taumalolo will play lock with Josh McGuire shifting to prop and Francis Molo going to the bench. Ben Hampton, Jake Granville and John Asiata are out, with Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow debuting on the wing, Reece Robson at hooker, Coen Hess in the second row and Gavin Cooper moving to the bench.

Reuben Cotter joins the interchange. Corey Jensen and Peter Hola were omitted from the extended squad 24 hours before kick-off and Shane Wright and Tom Opacic were cut an hour before game time. Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt has scored nine tries in six games against the Warriors.

Eels: Parramatta will start 1-17 after Brad Takairangi and Oregon Kaufusi were the two players to drop out an hour before the match. Nathan Brown returns at lock, bumping Marata Niukore to the bench. Ray Stone joins the interchange with Brad Takairangi and Oregon Kaufusi dropping out. George Jennings and Will Smith were omitted from the reserves list 24 hours before kick-off. The Eels are aiming for their first 5-0 start since 1986.

Panthers: Penrith will start 1-17 after Mitch Kenny and Billy Burns were omitted 60 minutes before kick-off. Dylan Edwards won't be rushed back for Friday night's Battle of the West against Parramatta. Nathan Cleary's return in the halves means Matt Burton moves back to the bench. Jack Hetherington and Edwards were the players cut from the extended bench on Thursday night. Panthers captain James Tamou will play his 250th NRL game.

Rabbitohs: Wayne Bennett said on Friday that James Roberts would not be making his comeback, meaning Braidon Burns has earned a reprieve in the centres. Cody Walker returns from suspension with rookie Troy Dargan dropping out of the 17. Patrick Mago and Bayley Sironen replace Mark Nicholls and Keaon Koloamatangi on the interchange. Nicholls and Koloamatangi dropped out of the 19-man squad an hour before kick-off and Bryson Goodwin was the other player cut from the squad when it was reduced to 19 on Friday. 

Titans: The Titans are 1-17, as named on Tuesday. Jai Whitbread and Tyrone Roberts dropped out of the playing squad on game day and Jarrod Wallace and Beau Fermor were omitted from the squad 24 hours before kick-off.

Storm: Ryley Jacks starts at No.7 to replace Jahrome Hughes (broken hand) and Nelson Asofa-Solomona replaces Chris Lewis on the interchange. Wests Tigers: The Tigers are 1-17 as named on Tuesday. Michael Maguire has rung the changes after last week's loss to the Titans with Robert Jennings, Benji Marshall, Luke Garner, Oliver Clark and Billy Walters making way. Marshall and Garner were trimmed from the extended bench on game day and Billy Walters and Corey Thompson were the two players omitted 24 hours before kick-off.

Raiders: Young lock Corey Horsburgh has a case of gastro and will not play. Sia Soliola (No.16) moves into the starting side. Jordan Rapana starts on the wing, Bailey Simonsson moves to the bench and Ryan Sutton comes into the squad.  Tom Starling and Kai O'Donnell dropped out of the playing squad an hour before kick-off and Matt Frawley and Michael Oldfield were the two players left out on the eve of the match.

Dragons: In a major reshuffle, Ben Hunt and James Graham will both start the match on the interchange bench. Corey Norman moves to five-eighth from fullback with Matt Dufty to start at fullback. Trent Merrin will start at lock. Jackson Ford and Jason Saab were the last two players omitted from the squad.

The Dragons are aiming to avoid a 0-5 start for the first time in the history of the joint venture. Blake Lawrie and Korbin Sims were omitted 24 hours before kick-off with Jacob Host moving onto the interchange in jersey No.18.

Sharks: In one late change, Toby Rudolf will start the match, with Jack Williams dropping back to the interchange bench. Siosifa Talakai and Jackson Ferris were the last two players dropped from the squad. Matt Moylan and Royce Hunt were the players left out 24 hours out from kick-off. William Kennedy (No.19) will start at fullback. Only five Sharks players have experienced an NRL victory at Campbelltown.

Bulldogs: Aiden Tolman has been cleared on his COVID- 19 test but will undergo a period of quarantine of up to 14 days and therefore will not train with the team or be available for selection during that period. As a result, Sauaso Sue moves into the starting side at prop. Reimis Smith, who was suspended on Tuesday, is the other player missing from the squad that was initially named.

Dallin Watene Zelezniak shifted from the wing to Smith's centre spot. Ofahiki Ogden and Morgan Harper have been elevated to the interchange with Jack Cogger omitted from the reserves.

Roosters: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is out due to a minor back complaint, with Lindsay Collins replacing him in the starting pack. Lachlan Lam and Sam Verrills have been omitted from the squad with Mitch Aubusson to make his return via the interchange bench.

Victor Radley was cleared of a serious elbow injury and will play. Roosters winger Daniel Tupou has scored nine tries in his past 10 games against the Bulldogs.
