Legacy launched, flexis return

Affordable pricing on the best seats in the house, the introduction of a legacy membership to reward and recognise existing members and the return of flexi passes are key features of the Vodafone Warriors’ 2020 membership offerings unveiled by the club today.

A year after slashing the cost of full season memberships for reserved seats at Mt Smart Stadium to celebrate the club’s 25th season, the Vodafone Warriors have announced some key changes to their membership programme for next year.

In a positive boost for the club’s loyal members, the pricing remains well below where it sat two seasons ago for most seats at Mt Smart Stadium, with full season adult memberships for any reserved seat set at just $249 for existing members who renew by October 9.

The price for reserved seat adult memberships will then rise to $259 for those who purchase after the October 9 cut-off date.

Due to popular demand after a change for this season, 2020 full season memberships will also see a return of the membership pack, which includes a Canterbury of New Zealand members-only cap. Last year, members had to purchase their cap individually for an additional $25.

Further to that, 2020 will see the club reintroduce core benefits for regular season members that were missing from this year’s offering including events like a mid-season signing session with the full NRL squad.

The product has also been renamed “The Faithful” to reflect the unwavering loyalty Vodafone Warriors members have shown to their club through 25 seasons.

For existing members looking to renew, kids’ memberships anywhere in the stadium remain competitively priced at just $59.

As was the case in 2019, full season Faithful memberships will cover 10 games played in Auckland next year with final details to be confirmed when the NRL draw comes out in October.

Once again, the Vodafone Warriors will be a “home” team for the NRL’s Magic Round in 2020 while the club’s other home game will be played at Wellington’s soon-to-be-renamed SKY Stadium. Details of the opponent and date for that match are also still to be confirmed.

“We are working hard to finalise a schedule next year that we are sure our members will love,” Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George said.

“We are incredibly blessed to have such a loyal bunch of members and it’s for that reason we’ve fought hard to keep costs down for the second straight season.

“It’s our goal to ensure we deliver real value to our members for 2020 and beyond.”

Another major change to the membership programme for 2020 is a significant overhaul of the super membership product.

Re-named “The Legacy” for 2020, the product will only be available to existing members from this season and has been competitively priced at $469 for adults and $159 for children. That equates to a price cut on adult super memberships of over 50% on 2019 prices.

In addition to the regular benefits that come with all memberships, all legacy members will receive an exclusive t-shirt and 25% discount on all food and beverage at retail stadium-owned outlets as well as an invitation for an exclusive behind-the-scenes Vodafone Warriors HQ tour and BBQ with the team after an open training session.

Legacy members will also have their name affixed to their Mt Smart Stadium seat and access to 25% off at the club’s SuperStore.

“We had an impressive uptake of super memberships this year,” George added.

“But the feedback we had is the pricing was too high for a lot of our hardcore fans. We don’t want that to be a barrier to entry for next year so we’ve taken that feedback on board, tweaked the product offering, created some additional benefits and adjusted our pricing accordingly.

“We also heard from some of our regular season members that they felt they missed out on benefits this year. That’s why we are bringing back the usual benefits they know and love from previous seasons.

“All of our members, regardless of the product they buy, are important to us and we want them to know and feel that.”

Back by popular demand after a year’s hiatus are flexi general admission passes called “The Interchange”. Fans wanting flexibility who are unable to attend every game will have their bases covered with an array of flexi options.

Available for purchase will be a five-ticket flexi pass in 2020 for just $85, a nine-ticket pass for just $144 or an 18-ticket pass for $270.

“Passes can be used at all regular season games across the season or used all at once and are an affordable way for you and your mates to attend games while enjoying the benefits of membership with the Vodafone Warriors,” George said.

“Our members were happy with the significant reduction in pricing for this season but they also told us they wanted the flexi passes to return. We’ve listened and that’s why they will be back next year.”

For fans outside of Auckland, there are also a range of membership options available.

Memberships for the club’s home game in Wellington are just $59 and include admission to the match and a membership pack.

Australian-based fans, meanwhile, can purchase an “Insider” membership which gives them a membership pack as well as access to ticket discounts where possible in away supporter bays at Vodafone Warriors games across the ditch.

For those members who can’t make games, there’s also a “Supporter” membership for just $35 which includes a membership pack.
