Finals football now out of reach

St George Illawarra ended the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ bid to make the Jersey Flegg Cup finals after beating them 42-22 in today’s 23rd-round clash in Sydney.

The Dragons were just a point ahead in eighth place going into today’s encounter but the 20-point win has taken them to 21 points leaving the Vodafone Junior Warriors unable to make the top eight with just one regular season match to play.

After going to the break 12-24 behind, the Vodafone Junior Warriors pulled it back to 22-30 midway through the second half but the Dragons scored twice in the last five minutes to clear away.
