Sky Sport continues to back New Zealand sport with today's announcement that it will sponsor the Warriors in the upcoming 2019 NRL Holden Women’s Premiership kicking off live on Sky Sport next month.
Sky TV chief executive Martin Stewart was at Mount Smart Stadium on Tuesday night to celebrate the partnership when he met the players at a photo shoot, joining them in a team photo as they showed off their new strip for the first time.
“Women’s rugby league is going from strength to strength in New Zealand and we’re thrilled to have our close friends from Sky Sport on board backing our NRLW team,” said Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George.
“We’ve had a wonderful partnership with Sky Sport for many years and we really appreciate the tremendous support they continue to provide.”
Sky director of sport Tex Teixeira says Sky is proud to be supporting the Warriors.
“Having worked with the Vodafone Warriors for so many years it’s a real pleasure for Sky Sport to be able to play a part in supporting the Warriors women’s team as they begin to carve out their own legacy in the second year of the competition," he said.
"Best of luck for the season. We can’t wait for it to kick-off on Sky Sport!”
The new Warriors sponsorship follows Sky Sport’s recent rugby league sponsorship of the Kiwi Ferns, Kiwis and Junior Kiwis.
The NRL Holden Women’s Premiership 2019 season will kick-off in September, with every match live on Sky Sport.
