Vodafone Warriors' NRL Fantasy guide

Ahead of the launch of the 2019 NRL Fantasy season on January 30, NRL.com will be revealing each club's player prices and put the spotlight on a few potential bargains every day in the coming weeks.

After playing safety-first footy in 2017 the Warriors went back to their natural offloading game and thrived last season.

They played their way into the finals on the back of a tremendous away record and a super season from Dally M-winning captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

Another year older and wiser, can they become a genuine premiership contender this year?

Here is a look at three players worth considering for your NRL Fantasy squad:

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck

He won the Dally M Medal, but now is it time for him to match the explosive Fantasy form he showed in 2015?

The Warriors skipper is a more complete player than ever, with a penchant for pulling off outrageous try-saving tackles as well as being a weapon in attack, but in his fourth and final year as a Rooster his running game was simply staggering – averaging a monstrous 240 metres per game.

That number has dipped to a (still very good) 180 metres a game at the Warriors in recent seasons, and while his Fantasy scoring last year was good (42 points per match) it was still 16 points a game shy of his breakout 2015 campaign.

Jazz Tevaga

Forwards who come off the bench and aren't built like Viliame Kikau usually don't rack up the Fantasy points, but Tevaga is the exception.

The nuggetty hooker/second-rower flew under the radar to become a gem of a buy last season – after 11 rounds he averaged 36 points a game, before exploding with 53 points a game from round 12 to 25.

The impressive thing is he didn't need much more game time to do it (his minutes jumped from 53 per game to 57) so there's no reason why he can't carry on as a 50+ scorer this year, while having the price tag of a 46-point player.

Isaiah Papali'i

Not many teenagers are entrusted with an 80-minute role in the forwards at NRL level, which makes Papali'i's second season in first grade particularly impressive.

He made his Kiwis Test debut in November, just a month and a half after turning 20, and he looks very good value heading into the 2019 season considering his price tag is that of a 38-point player.

Papali'i scored just under 45 points a game when starting in the second row last season and almost 47 a game when playing the full 80.
