"It’s Game Time" at Mount Smart Stadium with all three Vodafone Warriors teams in action this Sunday (brought to you by our match day sponsor SKYCITY).

After two games on the road, the Vodafone Warriors are thrilled to back inb familiar surroundings.

There are many of reasons to come along to support the boys with one of the highlights being veteran Simon Mannering first game at Moutn Smart Stadium since claiming the club record for most NRL appearances. You wouldn’t want to miss the milestone celebrations planned when your team takes on Gold Coast. 

Ironically, Vodafone Warrior #125 Mannering reached his 250-game milestone against the Gold Coast Titans in round 17 last season when he became just the second player to reach the mark after club legend Stacey Jones.

Last weekend he made his 262nd appearance in the away match against the Dragons to surpass Jones’ record of 251 games.

We'll have members' councillors around the ground giving out exclusive Simon Mannering posters. Look out for the poster. There are just 2262 available featuring our ultimate Vodafone Warrior.

Match day sponsor SKYCITY has has put together an action-packed "It's Game Time" programme including a “Shoot for Gold” basketball competition in the Harvey Norman Community Fun Zone. Participants in the R20 activity will have the opportunity to win RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) bands. After the match winners can head to SKYCITY (wearing their bands) to find out whether they've won cash or food and beverage prizes by having their bands scanned on the podium in the SKYCITY Atrium. There'll also be a Meet the Team after-match event at Andy’s Burgers and Bar when there'll be more prizes available which the Vodafone Warriors player of the day awards will also be presented.

At halftime in Sunday's NRL fixture, Diamond Dance will provide a six-minute entertainment performance on the showcasing events at SKYCITY on Friday and Saturday nights.

SKYCITY will also have a presence in the Corporate Lounge in the East Stand where it will be teaching guests how to play Black Jack and Roulette. More RFID bands will also be up for grabs for the chance to win prizes at SKYCITY.

 

GAME DAY FEATURES

MATCH DAY SPONSOR - SKY CITY

As mentioned, SKYCITY is the match day sponsor for this home game daye. With the flick of a wrist, join in the “Shoot for Gold” basketball competition in the Harvey Norman Community Fun Zone. RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) bands will be given to winners offering the chance to win cash, food and beverage prizes. Winners need to head to the podium in the SKYCITY Atirum where to have their bands scanned to find out whether they've won a prize. Please note, this is an R20 competition.

For the kids, there will be lolly giveaways, scratchy medals with food and beverage giveaways and Sky Tower deals to be won in the Harvey Norman Community Fun Zone.

SKY CITY’s Diamond Dance group will be capture the "It's Game Time" theme through some old-school halftime entertainment. Kicking off their set with an American-style cheer routine with pompoms and all, it will then be followed by a fun, contemporary hip hop routine. Accompanied by Scotty the Sky Tower and 35 junior competition cheerleaders, the set will be energetic, providing an insight to the upcoming World Masters Games in Auckland incorporating some of the 28 sports featured during the event running from April 21-30.

The Corporate Lounge in the East Stand will be transformed into a mini casino with gaming tables and a spinning wheel set up. There will be three tables available to learn Black Jack and Roulette. Brush up on your gaming skills to transfer when visiting the SKYCITY Casino.   

SIMON MANNERING

After his record-breaking 262nd game last week, Simon Mannering will be the centre of attention as the club celebrates the achievement in his first appearance back at home as the record holder. A total of 2262 exclusive posters have been produced to give out to members and fans around tghe ground. Stay tuned throughout the day for opportunities to meet the man of the moment post-match.

RAY WHITE COIN TOSS

The Ray White Coin Toss will take place in the middle of the field straight after the Vodafone Warriors’ Intrust Super Premiership clash against the Sea Eagles. Vodafone Warriors’ skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and one of Gold Coast's co-captains (Kevin Proctor or Ryan James) will be joined by a lucky Vodafone Warriors member who will toss the coin. Both captains will be interviewed on the field.  

HARVEY NORMAN COMMUNITY FUN ZONE

Bring the kids and head down to the Harvey Norman Community Fun Zone. Between 3.20pm and 3.50pm you can have your photo taken with a Vodafone Warriors player. There will also be face painting, the Canterbury of New Zealand tackle bag will be there to attack, a balloon artist will be on hand and there’ll also be colouring-in competition. A reminder that there will also be activities organised by our match day sponsor SKYCITY including, “Shoot for Gold” and lolly and scratchy medal giveaways for the kids.

CORPORATE LOUNGE

Vodafone Warrior #33 and ex-Kiwi Awen Guttenbiel - who's on the club's football advisory board - will be one of the lounge guests along with former All Black and sevens legend Eric Rush. Guttenbiel had a Vodafone Warriors career from 1996-2002 and played alongside Stacey Jones in the 2002 grand final against the Sydney Roosters. Highlights of Rush‘s long rugby union career included winning two Commonwealth Games gold medals, a World Cup Sevens title in 2001 and representing the All Blacks at the 1995 Rugby Wolrd Cup.

SUZUKI ULTIMATE ROAD WARRIOR

The prize will be drawn at our last home game of the season, the round 25 encounter with the Manly Sea Eagles.

CANTERBURY OF NEW ZEALAND T-SHIRT CANNON

Vodafone Warriors warm-up T-shirts will be shot into the crowd by the Canterbury of New Zealand T-shirt cannon. If you catch one of them, you'll have the chance to meet the players and have your shirt signed after the match. Make your way to the Members’ Clubrooms at the north end of the stadium when the fulltime siren has sounded and wou'll be escorted to the gym to meet the players.

SKYCITY CHEERLEADERS

The SKYCITY cheerleaders are the Vodafone Warriors’ official dancers. As Auckland’s premier cheerleading team, they execute well-choreographed routines with precision for your game day entertainment. The Drums of the Pacific group encompasses the game day culture and thrill by coordinating the rhythm of the beat to the crowd atmosphere. Don’t expect to sit still while they are playing.
