After two games on the road, Ryan Hoffman not only makes his first appearance at home as the new Vodafone Warriors captain but in a special coincidence he does so against his former club Melbourne.

The 32-year-old second rower played 245 times for the Storm before making Mount Smart Stadium his home last season.

On Sunday he makes his 21st appearance for the Vodafone Warriors but just his third in charge.

As well as being his first home game as captain it’s the first time he has played for the Vodafone Warriors against the Storm at Mount Smart Stadium (he was side-lined when the Vodafone Warriors reclaimed the Michael Moore Trophy with a memorable 28-14 victory last July).

In the opening round of the season against Wests Tigers, Hoffman made 101 metres from 13 runs plus 17 tackles in an 80-minute effort. He again played the full 80 minutes against Brisbane last Friday night finishing with 76 metres from 13 carries plus 22 tackles.
