Surgery today has confirmed Vodafone Warriors second rower Ben Henry has a broken patella in his left knee but it has also revealed no ligament damage or ruptured quadriceps as initially feared.

Club medical staff say it is still too early to forecast Henry’s full recovery.

Henry (24) had two reconstructions after season-ending ACL injuries to his left knee in 2013 and 2015.

After playing in two trials last month, he was making his first NRL appearance in almost a year when he started last Saturday’s clash against Wests Tigers.

He had to be helped off the field after his left leg was caught awkwardly while making a tackle 20 minutes into the game.
