A revamped seating plan, a flat rate of $49 for children and tiered pricing in Mount Smart Stadium’s East and West Stands are among the features of the Vodafone Warriors’ 2016 membership options released to existing members on a new auto renewal basis until September 24.

Vodafone Warriors fan engagement manager Rodney Wallace said the club was determined to make home games more accessible for kids and families by striking a new single season-long rate for child memberships while cutting prices for many family membership packages.

The new cost of a child membership equates to a cost of less than $4.50 a game for the club’s 11 Auckland-based matches.

“We’ve introduced a universal price for all full-season child memberships. No matter what category, a child membership (15 and under) in 2016 will be $49 for the season, a saving of as much as $100 in some cases,” he said.

“Our feedback on family memberships has shown that in many cases only one parent comes to the games with the kids.

“With this new low rate we’ve provided the opportunity to buy one adult membership and add multiple child packages to make the membership experience more attractive.

“At the same time, the price for many family membership options has been reduced.”

The membership revamp also includes the creation of new platinum covered and uncovered categories focused on bays around halfway in the upper East and West Stands (platinum covered) and around the tunnels in the lower East and West Stands (platinum uncovered).

A full review of the membership structure had identified inequities in pricing which have been remedied in the 2016 programme.

“It clearly isn’t fair asking members to pay the same price to sit and watch from the try line as those watching from halfway around the tunnels in the East and West Stands,” said Wallace.

“The seats near the tunnels are the most sought-after and highly-valued in the stadium. By creating a new platinum uncovered category we’re differentiating between these premium seats and those on the wings.”

Members using the auto renewal option for adult memberships in the platinum uncovered area will pay $329 – a slight increase on 2015 – and $359 for an adult platinum covered membership (unchanged from 2015); adult gold covered memberships in the wings of the East and West Stands can be auto-renewed for $299 (down from $360 for the 2015 season) with adult gold uncovered wing memberships costing $279 (down from $300). Adult silver uncovered memberships on the extreme wings of the East and West Stands are priced at $179 (down from $240).

A family platinum uncovered membership (two adults and two children) is $719 on auto renewal from today – up from $650 – while a family platinum covered membership is available to existing members at $769 (unchanged).

An auto-renewed gold covered family membership is priced at $649, or less than $60 a game; it is down from the renewal price of $770 for the 2015 season. An existing silver uncovered family membership (two adults and two children) can be auto-renewed for $409 for 2016 compared to the 2015 renewal price of $530.

“Most of the categories have come down in price, some by a significant amount, while some have remained the same,” said Wallace.

“For existing members, the auto renewal option provides not only the cheapest price but it also allows them to secure the same seats without fuss.

“We’d urge all current members to take this opportunity to avoid paying more when we move to the regular renewal window from September 29.”

In another initiative, the South Stand will have general admission seating only offering auto-renewed bronze memberships at only $109 (adult), $49 (child) and $269 (family) compared to $165, $85 and $380 for the 2015 season.

The South Stand’s bronze membership replaces the Tribe category which now moves to its own dedicated area in Bay 33 in the lower East Stand. Seats in this bay are down from $300 to $279 for auto-renewing adult members, $125 to $49 for child memberships and $650 to $599 for family packages.

Platinum covered memberships in the middle bays in the East and West Stands remain the same for an auto-renewing adult at $359 and for a family at $769 but come down from $150 to $49 for a child membership.

All platinum members (covered and uncovered) will benefit from VIP treatment in 2016. They will all receive priority access to O’Rorke Road car park passes and the opportunity for Legends Lounge upgrades and post-match gym access.

New to 2016 platinum family and child members will be priority access to a new Junior Footy Clinic initiative led by Vodafone Warriors players.

A change by popular demand is the introduction of a member scarf in all 2016 membership packs. The new scarf has been requested in recent member surveys and will be an item both adults and kids alike can enjoy.

Away and flexi memberships will be available for renewal once the 2016 NRL draw is released later in the year.

If you are looking to change your seats, add on a membership or upgrade to a new category please contact one of our membership team to gain access to the auto-renewal price available until September 24.

The regular renewal window for members to secure their same seats will be live from September 29 until October 28. Existing members should note the price for memberships in the auto renewal window are cheaper than those in the renewal period.
