Stacey Jones and Shaun Johnson have been confirmed in the halves along with a four-man bench to complete the People’s Choice 20th Anniversary Team.
The full team was revealed in the build-up to the Vodafone Warriors’ last home game of the 2015 season against North Queensland at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday night.
Jones and Johnson totally dominated voting as fans made their choices for the two players in the halves, club legend Jones coming out ahead and being named in the No 7 jersey.
At the same time voting was reviewed in confirming an interchange bench comprising a utility player (Lance Hohaia), two props (Ruben Wiki and Jacob Lillyman) and a back rower (Kevin Campion).
Of the 17 named, 12 feature among the 23 players who have appeared in 100 games or more for the Vodafone Warriors. The only exceptions are centre Brent Tate, prop Steve Price, hooker P J Marsh and interchange forwards Ruben Wiki and Kevin Campion (Price, Wiki and Campion all joined the Vodafone Warriors later in their careers).
The chosen team also includes five current players in wing Manu Vatuvei, Johnson, front rower Ben Matulino, second rower Simon Mannering and Lillyman.
