The Vodafone Warriors went so close this week to being the only club to have its NRL, NYC and New South Wales Cup teams all in the top four of each competition.

With their 28-14 win over Melbourne on Sunday, the Vodafone Warriors climbed into the NRL's top four for the first time in 89 games since 2011. Since the 2007 season the club has now claimed a spot among the leading four teams just four times (a week each in 2009, 2010, 2011 and now 2015).

Earlier on Sunday, the Vodafone Warriors had a 38-22 win to claim a share of first on the New South Wales Cup ladder, level with Penrith on 26 points and second on points for and against.

Ultimately a late Melbourne try in the NYC match was all that stood between having all three sides in the top four. The Vodafone Junior Warriors had a 20-18 lead when the Storm scored in the closing minutes to win the NYC contest 24-20, leaving the home side fifth on the table, a point behind Canberra.
