Vodafone Warriors members are more visible than ever on home game daysat Mount Smart Stadium.

For one there’s the big red tent, a home within a home for Vodafone Warriors members to use and, for another, some members are operating as Vodafone Warriors game day ambassadors.

The tent is impossible to miss positioned directly behind the goal posts at the northern end of the ground, a meeting place for all members pre-game, in-game and post-game.

Indeed many members have used the space in the first three home games of the season to watch the contests from close quarters.

They were certainly provided with special value during Saturday night’s #FeedTheBeast occasion against Wests Tigers when the Vodafone Warriors were attacking the northern end of the ground in the first half.

In the space of 13 minutes members witnessed a four-try onslaught, first Manu Vatuvei scoring out to the right of their vantage point and then Chad Townsend and Tuimoala Lolohea touching down right in front of them before Shaun Johnson crossed in the corner out to the left of their viewing position.

Aiding the overall game day experience for members are the newly-introduced ambassadors.

“We’re really pleased to have these familiar faces around the ground,” said Vodafone Warriors membership manager William Felgate.

“They’re volunteers selected from our passionate members who are there to assist with any inquiries from members as well as leading the way in their support of the Vodafone Warriors.

“They’re our members’ eyes and ears, picking up feedback to pass on to us. They’re able to let us know what our members love about the club, what has been a great addition this season and what they’d like to see in the way of more initiatives.”

Coming from as far away as Tauranga, the ambassadors comprise a mix of members who have been with the club since 1995 and more recent additions. Wearing red T shirts with ‘ASK ME’ printed on the front and ‘GAME DAY AMBASSADOR’ on the back, the ambassadors can be found in the members’ tent on game day or out and about roaming Mount Smart Stadium.

The ambassadors are:

Murray Hill

Graeme Lee

Dave Stevens

Albert Kapua

Tekanawa Harris

Dakota Harris

Ryan Hamilton

Bud Abbott

Emma Harper

Richard Samuel Lewis

Ena Liuaga

Pauline Kimiora
