Agnatius Paasi's 2014 memorable season was recognized on Tuesday night as he took home two awards at the Red Ball ceremony.

'Iggy' was named as the NSW Cup side's player of the year and was also given the title of player's player.

Paasi played a vital role in the NSW Cup squad's run into the post-season, which was brought to an end last weekend at the hands of Illawara.

His season highlight came in the NRL, however, as he was called up into the first grade line-up for the big Round 19 clash against the Broncos at Suncorp.

"I was just happy to finally get to play in the NRL," said Paasi. "Once I got out there my heart was beating so fast."

His on-field success this year and his NRL debut was massively rewarding after a trying offseason in which Paasi was considering hanging up his boots.

"I almost gave it up this year but my parents and partner told me to keep going," he said.

His family were able to share in his success on Tuesday night, watching on with pride as his named was called from the stage.
