Rohan Smith’s NSW Cup side have spent the majority of the season on the road and this Saturday will be no different as they take on the Cronulla Sharks at Rugby Park in Gisborne.

Saturday’s encounter, which kicks off at 3pm, will mark the team’s 10th road-trip in 14 rounds. Coach Smith is confident in his team’s ability to win away from Auckland and expects a good showing again this Saturday.

“We’ve done pretty well away from home,” Smith said. “The travel doesn’t seem to bother the boys too much. It's a good chance to bond together and enjoy each other's company."

His side have maintained a winning record in games across the Tasman, with five wins to three losses. This time around, the Vodafone Warriors only face a short flight to Gisborne, where they will be looking to rebound from their 0-28 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs last weekend.

Their cause will be helped by the likes of Siliva Havili, Charlie Gubb and Tuimoala Lolohea, who are making an appearance in the starting line-up after notching some time with the NRL squad.

“We’re looking forward to those guys coming back,” said Smith. “They’re all classy players.”

The two sides’ previous encounter was a one-sided affair, with the Vodafone Warriors soaring to a 44-6 victory at Remondis Stadium in April. The fans who turnout on Saturday in Gisborne will be hoping for more of the same.
