They have today confirmed an ‘included in your ticket’ travel offer to and from ‘Season of Eden’ games on Saturday, March 15 (Dragons, 5.00pm kick-off), Sunday, April 13 (Bulldogs, 4.00pm kick-off) and Saturday, May 10 (Raiders, 5.00pm kick-off).
Vodafone Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah welcomed the joint venture as a huge benefit for everyone coming to the games.
“We’re delighted we’ve been able to combine with Auckland Transport to make this a possibility for our members and other fans,” he said.
“We saw during the NRL Auckland Nines just how well integrated ticketing worked for an event that was sold out across the weekend.
“It’s a fantastic way to travel to games at Eden Park and we’d encourage everyone to take advantage of it.”
Auckland Transport special events manager John Strawbridge was thrilled to firm up a partnership which would benefit supporters.
“We’re delighted to confirm travel to and from the Eden Park games will be included in pre-purchased tickets and available to Vodafone Warriors members,” he said.
“Simply show your membership card or your match ticket when you board a special event bus or train before the match and we will get you safely to and from the game.”
Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) chief executive Brett O’Riley also hailed the announcement following the success of the inaugural Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines at Eden Park.
“Building on the experience of the Nines, this gives rugby league fans and event goers the opportunity to enjoy three more fast-paced matches at Eden Park,” he said.
“Events like this add to the vibrancy of the city and help show that Auckland is truly a place where the show never stops.”
