Solomone Kata was selected as a member of the Vodafone Warriors NRL Auckland Nines squad. Kata is another in the mold of Konrad Hurrell and Ngani Laumape, a devastating combination of power and speed.
Solomone arrived in New Zealand from Tonga only three years ago. After excelling in the Sacred Heart College First XV, he is another schoolboy rugby union star signed by the Vodafone Warriors.
He scored two tries on debut against South Sydney in April and, at one stage, was running at a try a game. His tally now stands at 11 in 16 games. A handy goal kicker, he's eligible for a second NYC season in 2014.
