Feeling fresh after arriving on Air New Zealands NZ1 just after 7.00am, the 24-year-old emerged from Customs wearing the new issue Vodafone Warriors member's T shirt.


He and his manager Andy Clarke were welcomed by chief executive Wayne Scurrah before Tomkins did an all-in interview with some media outlets followed by a live interview from the airport with Sam Ackerman on TV 3s Firstline.

Among questions put to him, Tomkins was asked about his interest in the upcoming Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines at Eden Park on February 15-16. He said he was exceptionally keen to line up in the event.


Not long after he was at the clubs headquarters for a tour of the facilities as well as meeting all staff including head coach Matthew Elliott and the players.


He also spent some time watching his new team-mates training ahead of travelling to Vodafones headquarters in the Viaduct precinct where hes due to be officially welcomed at midday by chief executive Russell Stanners on what is Vodafone Warriors day for all office staff there.


As well as interacting with staff, Tomkins will be attend a media conference at Vodafone and will later make an appearance at Canterbury of New Zealand's store at Viaduct Harbour.


He is scheduled to be live on air in the studio with DArcy Waldegrave on RadioSport between 4.30pm and 5.00pm today.
